In today’s article, we’re going to present you a natural sunscreen made of toxin-free ingredients and zinc oxide with natural SPF! It protects and moisturizes your skin instantly!
Zinc oxide has been used in the cosmetic industry for a variety of products: natural sunscreens, diaper rash cream etc. When you apply it topically, it offers a barrier to the water and heals your skin. Combine it with some coconut oil and shea butter and you’ll get a natural sunscreen without toxins! Try to find zinc oxide which is non-nano. It is the one of the best quality and protects your skin from the dangerous sun rays instantly.
Still, it isn’t easy to obtain the proper SPF levels in homemade sunscreen. You should make 20% of the recipe with zinc oxide. It offers an SPF of 20 which means that it protects about 93% of the damaging sun rays. If you expose to sun moderately, it will help you convert the sunlight into vitamin D in your skin. We need to be in the sun for a while. We just have to pay attention to the time.
You can find the ingredients in health stores or online. Prepare your own very effective sunscreen that will last for the whole summer. Use a double-boiler to melt beeswax, shea butter and coconut oil. The best of beeswax are the pellets since they can be melted more easily. Its waxy nature makes it amazingly resistant to water, but you should still apply a new layer of sunscreen on every 1 hour.
When everything is melted, put some essential oil and zinc oxide inside. Try not to inhale from the zinc oxide and cover your nose and mouth! Avoid citrus essential oils: bergamot, tangerine and lemon since they will cause a phototoxic reaction on your skin and mimic a sunburn. The liquid which is stirred well should be poured in a small glass jar. Shut it tightly using a lid. Keep it in a dry and cool spot for 2 hours and leave the mixture to thicken well.
