Yoga is something that has been used throughout the whole world and has become some sort of a trend. You go to classes and the first results will appear after several months. This is an extremely beneficial practice. It offers amazing benefits for your whole body.

Even though there are debates about the origins of yoga, it has been first developed in ancient India. It represents a spiritual and mental discipline and isn’t only an exercise which requires physical strength.

Hindu and Buddhist groups first founded yoga for the means of their spiritual meditation. They have also used it like a way for praying for numerous centuries.

Unfortunately, many countries throughout the whole world have adopted it as a trend to make money and make people’s bodies perfectly fit.

Is yoga worth it?

There have been numerous researches which have wanted to discover if yoga has a psychological or physical influence. Some of them managed to prove that it can help a person in their psychological healing as well as decrease some health risk factors.

The Asana yoga has several poses which can help you treat and balance the most hardworking as well as important organ from our body: our thyroid.

It is extremely important to determine the way our immune system uses to respond to the external stresses which surround us. This gland also determines the impact toxic chemicals have on each organ in our body.

People often have an imbalanced thyroid nowadays since their lifestyle is pretty busy and unhealthy. Doctors would often prescribe some medicines to treat this health problem, but the following very simple Asana yoga poses can also help you balance any thyroid irregularity:

1. Sarvanga Asana

“Asana” is a word which means ‘staying still’ while “sarvanga” means ‘entire body’ in Sanskrit. This is a yoga pose that means that your whole body needs to be still. It is actually a shoulder stand.

It is considered to be one of the best which help us balance the thyroid, but also reverse the circulation of our blood flow. During the pose, our body is positioned upside down, so it pressures our nervous system into our throat and head so that the pineal and pituitary gland can be activated.

Method:

First, lay down on your back. Your legs should be straight and you should be flat.

The legs should be close together. Start bringing them up towards the ceiling very slowly.

Your palms should be on the lower back while you’re raising the hips off the ground.

Your legs need to be straightened. Your elbows have to be on the ground so that you could support your back.

As soon as you get into this position, you’ll start pressing the thyroid gland towards the chin.

Try to keep a straight and stable vertical line of the body. Don’t sway back or front, left or right.

Your shoulders will support your body as well as the biceps. Breathe deeply and steadily all the time.

2. Matsya Asana

The literal translation of this pose is ‘to swim like a fish in a flooded water’. It’s a very easy position that is really beneficial in offering benefits for your thyroid function.

This is a position that will offer numerous benefits for your complete nervous system, besides improving your thyroid function.

Method:

You need to lay in a dorsal position or on your back flat.

Cross the left leg over the right one or vice versa to present the lotus position.

Then, start lifting your back off the ground. The top of your head should be on the ground so that you could use the back to create an arc.

Make sure you always visit your doctor for consultations about any medical condition. This doesn’t replace a medical treatment and shouldn’t be used as such. A healthcare professional will help you create the appropriate exercise prescription for you. In case you’re having some difficulties or pain while you’re doing the exercises, you should consult your doctor and stop doing them.
