Just imagine how hard a bee’s life is – they tend to thousands of flowers daily and beat their wings 10 000 times per minute in order to assist our food supply. Bees pollinate flowers and do an exhausting job and they need water to make it work. However, water’s not available everywhere, so finding a source can be a problem.
Bees need shallow water they can drink from. Shallow water, however, evaporates pretty slowly. If the water is deep, bees may drown, and getting water from rivers and lakes exposes them to fishes, frogs and wildlife that can easily snatch them right up from the air.
So, in order to hydrate these essential insects, we can all make a water feeder with marbles and water in a pan. The marbles will keep the bees from drowning and help them stay hydrated so they can do their great job.
